New Hire

District 128 Administration has appointed an interim Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, Dr. Brian Wegley, a retired superintendent of Northbrook/Glenview School District 30. Before his position as a superintendent in which he served for eight years, he was a physics teacher, associate principal and then principal at Glenbrook South High School.

“I am most excited to support our gifted administrators and teachers who continue to work on important initiatives that offer the opportunity to bring talented minds together,” Wegley said. “Even though I will only be here for a few months, I am excited to learn from and support the talented and committed educators here.”

Wegley will serve until the end of the school year when the position is filled. Mr. Briant Kelly, Associate Superintendent of D128, outlined the hiring timeline and what that might look like. Kelly said that the administration will sit down, look at the position and its updated description, and then begin interviewing to find someone by July 1, the beginning of the fiscal year.

Kelly hopes that the hiring process will be finished even before July 1, and that the position will be filled by Spring. As the selection process continues more information will be shared and an announcement will be made to the public once a new assistant superintendent has been found.
