Hi, my name is Caroline and I'm a senior at LHS. This is my second year on staff and I'm the News Editor. In school I'm involved in Interact, Link Crew, SOL, and more! Outside of school, I spend my time working and hanging out with friends.

Junior Jake Potter and senior Danielle Gibson conduct a plethora of interviews with famous characters and people as they look for the best employee for their rubber band company. Evident by Gibsons comments throughout the skit, it was clear to the audience how annoyed she became with the supposed ‘meet & greets’ her partner set up, leading her to quit in the end.

Junior Lauren Podlogar, who played Debbie, celebrates her birthday with her family at Olive Garden. Adapted from the iconic SNL skit, Debbie finds a way to ruin the moment with her depressing fun facts – even on her own special day.

Under the face of boredom, Chloe, played by junior Delaney Rybicki, shows off her new board game to her friends. Although in the beginning the ridiculous tasks, such as licking the floor, may seem harmless, they later turn deadly as each character fights for their lives after the introduction of Barnabas Grim, played by junior River Thompson.

The full company of One Acts gathers for a final bow at the end of the show. With the directors in front, they all celebrate both their work and the seniors.

Choir teacher Dr. Brown poses with his student-made music stand hall pass. When Dr. Brown needed to create a hall pass, he sought out the opinion of his senior students for ideas. “I think in the whole school [teachers] were all trying to come up with our own bathroom pass scenario,” Dr. Brown said.

The former location of Pizzaria Deville now stands vacant on 404 N. Milwaukee Ave. after being open for ten years and falling victim to the pandemic. Leasing inquieries are now open as of September in order to fill the once lively restaurant.

According to Paige Regan, the goal was to “make a statement against gun violence but also to stand in solidarity with the victims of the school shooting in Nashville.” Local police and Principal Dr. Koulentes supervised the peaceful display protesting gun violence in schools.

The Wildcats come up on top with a victory of 50-47. “Theyve played better together,” Coach Pedersen reflected on the season. “Theyve learned each others tendencies, and the energy level in the second half today was just something that we wouldnt have been able to achieve earlier in November.”

“The inspiration for this piece was Mr. Gossell [shining] different lights [while we] would wear funky hats and other props,” Senior Marcie Wright, the artist, explained. She drew the piece based on the photos Gossell had taken.

Art student sketches a randomly chosen observer of the show on the spot for another live exhibit presented. It gives the opportunity for students to “model” with a prop of their choice in order for them to experience the work the artists have put in.

Intricate metal jewelry is created and displayed by students in the class with the guidance of teacher Julie Johnson.

On Friday, Dec. 9th, the LHS art classes presented a pop-up showcase in the main gym. The display features all the art classes including Darkroom Photography, ceramics, jewelry making, painting classes, and more.

This sculpture titled “Ike Wazowski” was created by Sophomore Jess Levine,who took inspiration from one of her favorite Disney characters “Mike Wazowski”. She created it by molding paper pulp into the shape and then, after drying, painting it and adding finishing details.
