Best Buddies Talent Show

On Thursday, April 26, Libertyville High School’s Best Buddies chapter held its annual talent show in the main gym. Many of the buddies performed solo acts while others did duets or had group performances, all in front of parents or friends. In addition to the talent show, club advisor Mrs. Nancy Stevens was recognized for her work in Best Buddies as she is retiring at the end of this school year.

The head coach for the Unified team is Deborah Beagle and the LHS athletes are seniors Zach Henderson, Jack Wasser, Haziel Morales and Xavier Granados, and juniors Parker Nuttall and Ty Schiff. For the final piece, a combination of Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble played an extravagant song by Paul Hindemist. Flute soloist Dakota Olson had her moment highlighted within this song. “[My solo] was definitely challenging but it was fun too,” Olson said.

Rasin, who is the senior team captain and has been swimming since he was eight years old, shared that his strategy for the meet was to “get everybody hyped and everybody encouraging one another.”
