Global Economic Uncertainty Tied to Iran Conflict
After U.S. involvement in the Iraqi conflict on Feb. 28, the U.S. and Israel have coordinated military strikes and naval blockades, which have led to global economic uncertainty, increasing the price of gas and everyday living. However, current ongoing peace talks between the two parties have helped some of the prices become more manageable, yet still not back to their current levels. This uncertainty risks driving up the global debt, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Artemis II Successfully Lands in the Pacific Ocean
On Friday, April 10, the Artemis II mission was safely completed with a successful landing in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego. As the first crew to travel this deep into space since 1972 with the original Apollo missions, this landing has set records for the furthest distance of space exploration to date. With this success, foundations, such as NASA, have begun planning missions, like Artemis III, with planned moon landings on the far side of the moon or even further exploration of Mars.
Coachella’s Opening Weekend
From April 10-12, Coachella, one of the largest music and art festivals in the US, celebrated its opening weekend with headliners Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber and Karol G. As the first Latina headliner, Karol G made history with her standout set. Not only did each performer enchant the crowd with their admired songs, but many also brought out celebrity guests such as Lizzo, Joe Jonas and Jennifer Lopez. While there were occasional safety issues, with a speaker injuring a fan and weather canceling shows, the overall opening weekend of Coachella 2026 was chaotic and pop-culture-driven and reinforced its place as one of the biggest music festivals.
