Libertyville wrestling wins out against Lake Forest
Before the meet starts, competitors from Libertyville and Lake Forest greet each other.
On Friday, Jan. 11, the Libertyville wrestling team faced off against Lake Forest in a conference meet. Before the meet began, posters with pictures of the seniors on the Libertyville team were on display in the lobby for senior night. The seniors were also given a special introduction along with their parents.
During the matches, four members of the Libertyville team — junior Jordan Smith, senior Ryan Damenti, freshman Caelan Riley, and junior Danny Pucino — got pins on their Lake Forest opponents. At the end of the meet, Libertyville won with a final score of 47-15. The varsity team’s next meet is the Lake County Championship versus Grant High School on Friday, Jan. 18.
