Along with Tran and Garcia-Escobar, junior Daniel Oh will also be returning to the 2016-17 Exec Board. Oh is looking forward to working with his new team, along with reaching out to the community and improving his leadership skills. In regards to projects, Oh’s plans include hyping up students more for dances, football games, and the annual canned food drive. He is also planning to reach out to more local charities and promote them throughout the year at LHS.

Daniel Oh

Q: What do you want people to know about you?

A: What do I want people to know about me? Oh jeez that’s a huge question. I’d probably have to say that I love Chips Ahoy Chewy Cookies, making puns, and laughing. I also have a brother! A lot of people think I’m an only child, but I have a 27 year-old brother. Mm, besides that, probably that I’m a hard-worker who rarely procrastinates. I thrive under pressure and deadlines, and I love making people happy.

Q: Why are you running for Exec Board and what are your plans if you are voted on?

A: The reason I’m running for Executive Board is that I’m passionate about Student Council and getting involved with our school. Executive Board allows so much contact and communication between teachers, charities, and organizations in Libertyville, that it allows for so much room for growth for the students. I’ve learned how to communicate with adults, reach out to organizations, long-term planning, and so much more. Plus planning the dances is a blast. What are my plans? Definitely brainstorming new themes for Homecoming and the Football games, but I think another charity or event would be amazing to add. Last year we implemented the Color Run, and I’d like to bring something as big as that to LHS next year!

Q: How long have you been a part of Student Council?

A: I have been a part of student council ever since I was the Student Council Secretary at Adler in 5th grade. I was president from 6-10th grade at Highland and LHS, and I currently am on Exec Board this year, my junior year!
