Illinois Appellate Court – 2nd District

Democrat:

  • Judge Chris Kennedy – Judge Kennedy is a resident of Libertyville resident and currently an Associate Judge at Lake County Circuit Court. He believes in equal access to justice and wants to serve his community. Before being appointed as a judge, Kennedy was a public defender. He was also given the “Highly Recommended” rank by the Illinois State Bar Association, which recommends candidates based on experience and comprehensive interviews.
  • Mike Cortina – Currently a practicing attorney, Cortina brings comprehensive experience and perspective to the Appellate court. He served as an assistant’s states attorney for Whiteside County and currently is a partner in his law firm.
  • Erin Cartwright-Weinstein – Currently Clerk of the Circuit Court of Lake County, Cartwright-Weinstein is an active member of the Lake County legal community. Her goal is to modernize her office and create a positive environment for her employees.

Republican

  • Susan Clancy Boles – Born and raised in the Tri-Cities of Kane County, Judge Clancy Boles is running for Appellate Court, in hopes to uphold “Midwestern American Values,” including hard work, integrity, and impartiality.
