Boys Soccer Season Ends in Shootout Against Fremd
The boys soccer team lost their sectional semifinal game against Fremd, 4-3, on penalty kicks on Oct. 29. During the first half, Libertyville scored the first goal, creating a 1-0 lead. By the second half, Fremd had caught up, tying the score at 2. The tie was broken by a Fremd goal, and Libertyville tried to score countless times but the Fremd goalie, Artur Cholewa, stopped each shot.
But with 22 seconds left, Mickey Reilly shot the ball and scored. Wildcat fans celebrated in the bleachers, but the game was not over yet. Libertyville and Fremd were forced to go in a shootout, with Fremd winning, 7-6.
