Niko Christensen

Name: Niko Christensen

Grade: Senior

Tattoo: Bible verse, Philippians 4:13

Q: Why did you get this tattoo?

A: I grew up in a Christian household, so my grandma would always tell me before my football games that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you, and that’s what the bible verse is.

Q: You got this tattoo when you were 16. Did you have to get parental consent to get it?

A: Illinois actually has a law [that says] we can’t get [tattoos] even with parental consent, so I actually had to go to Kentucky with my dad to get it.

Q: What would you say in support of getting a tattoo?

A: It’s not like how it was in the olden days, how if you had one, you were classified as a punk. We view it more today as a way of art and a way to express [yourself] on your body.
