“I’m vegan. I really [advocate] for animal rights and I really think animals deserve better treatment in general. I also care about the environment and animal farming is really detrimental to the environment…being exposed to things that I’m not aware of in our Libertyville bubble opened my eyes to so many things in the world that general society isn’t really aware of. In the factory farms, a lot of people have no idea what happens to these animals; and it makes me just think, in third-world countries people don’t know what happen to the women and all of those issues, it just kind of opened my eyes to more world issues,” junior Julia Sahagian emphasized.
