Telling stories through photos

My sophomore year, I joined Drops of Ink without much prior knowledge of the class. A few of my friends were in it and loved it, so I joined hoping to experience the same feeling. I also wanted to improve my writing. I ended up loving it, and although I rarely write, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Drops of Ink allows me to tell stories through pictures, collaborate with peers I normally would have no contact with, and produce a monthly magazine of which I am so proud. Journalism lets untold stories be shared and is imperative to us as a student body and high school community. One of my favorite Drops of Ink core values is to “give a voice to the voiceless.” For much of high school, I’ve felt voiceless as well, but taking pictures of others and sharing their stories is such an incredible opportunity. Drops of Ink was one of the highlights of my high school career, and I am so glad my sophomore self decided to join.
