Shoes were mandatory at the dance. This has been a rule in the past, but has been widely enforced this school year at the dances. For girls who didn’t want to wear heels all evening, Student Council provided flip flops they could use.

On Saturday, Feb. 10, Libertyville High School held its annual Turnabout dance. This year’s theme decided on by Student Council  was the Olympics, in honor of the Winter Olympics currently being held.

The hallways were decorated with flags of countries worldwide along with paper snowflakes. At the dance, a projector displayed large snowflakes and the iconic five Olympic rings on the inside walls surrounding the gym.

Typically, the Turnabout assembly is held the Friday before the dance; however, with an unexpected cancellation of school due to the predicted snow in the forecast on Feb. 9, the assembly has been rescheduled to this coming Wednesday, Feb. 14.
