Sophomore Kailey Adams bowls a strike after the hook, a ball that curves into the pins as it approaches them.

The girls bowling team began their winter season toward the end of first semester and the regular season continues through Mon., Jan. 29. After that, varsity will continue to compete in the playoffs; Regionals are on Sat., Feb 3.

The team typically had two matches a week with practice every other week day at Lakeside Lanes in Mundelein. However, the team will practice at Bertrand Bowling Lanes in Waukegan the week prior to Regionals since that is where Regionals are hosted. These lanes have real wooden lanes, whereas Lakeside Lanes has synthetic lanes, so the team needs to get acclimated to the change in surface.
