Boys basketball dominates against rival Mundelein

Battling for an offensive rebound, 6’8’’ senior forward Drew Peterson towers over two Mundelein players as he reaches for the ball.

On Friday, Jan. 12, the Libertyville boys basketball team beat their rival Mundelein, 80-54, on their home court in front of a packed gym. The Wildcats’ big victory allowed them to snatch the first-place spot in the North Suburban Conference standings as their conference record moved to 4-1.

Wearing their special centennial white jerseys, which feature their last names on the back, LHS scored more than half of their points from behind the arc, sinking a total of 15 three-pointers. The physical game consisted of the referees calling multiple fouls for both teams including three technical fouls, one towards the Wildcats and two for the Mustangs.
