“You feel excited, you feel the rush. I mean, same with any other sport. You win a medal and you just feel proud. You feel like you’re doing something right,” freshman Claudia Moxo says about winning a karate tournament. Moxo started doing karate when she was six years old for self defense, and because it was one of the only sports girls could do in Spain. She is now a black belt.
