No matter your cultural, religious or political views, there is one thing on which we can all agree — 2016 has been a rough year. That’s impossible to deny. But just as undeniable is the fact that the world has kept spinning, time has kept moving and we’re almost to the new year!

What a year it’s shaping up to be — there is so much good coming our way in 2017! Here are just a few exciting things to look forward to:

    1. Super Bowl LI: Though of course we don’t yet know what teams will be facing off on Feb. 5, the hype is already building for the next Super Bowl. Whether you’re on the edge of your seat for every play or just watch for the silly commercials and chicken wings, this American tradition is a highly anticipated event. With Lady Gaga slotted to headline during halftime, it’s sure to be quite a show.
    2. Movies: 2017 is going to be a big year for comic fans, with long-anticipated sequels from Marvel including Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Thor: Ragnarok, as well as a new Spider-Man reboot. DC also has a promising lineup, with release dates set for Wonder Woman, Justice League, and Lego Batman.
    3. Technology: According to Business Insider, we can expect a lot of innovation in the new year. As Apple prepares to celebrate the iPhone’s 10th birthday, rumors about the iPhone 8 are flying. Never far behind Apple, Google has promise to release its own smartwatch in 2017. Gamers also have a lot of new tech to look forward to, with Microsoft presenting the new and improved Xbox Scorpio, as well as the release of the highly-anticipated gaming console, the Nintendo Switch.

This is just a small glimpse of what the new year holds, but doesn’t it look exciting? So, I encourage you to leave 2016 in the past! Certainly this year has been one for the books, but let’s leave that book on the shelf for a while. It’s time to start our new story; our 2017 story.

Until January comes however, all I can ask is that you to enjoy your holiday season, and have a very happy new year!
