The lower and intermediate instrumental ensembles at Libertyville High School performed in the Butler Lake Auditorium on May 14 under the direction of Mr. Adam Gohr, Mr. Dustin Helvie and Mr. Jeremy Marino. The performances varied in their range and instrumentation, featuring traditional band and orchestra ensembles, percussion group and a string quartet. As a whole, the performance showcased the talent and commitment of the student musicians representing LHS through dedication and excellence.
As the culminating concert of the year, the bands and orchestras presented their finest work as a group, having been rehearsing music together since the fall. Progressing through more challenging music as the year went on, the ensembles have been able to flourish into better artists and musicians.
“Doing solo work and playing as the only person is really challenging and requires a lot of maturity and self-confidence, band director Mr. Gohr said., “ Our kids have done a great job growing with that all year.”
