Students support fine art classes by visiting LHS’s very own art show

AP Portfolio students draw from a live model, Hank Brown, son of choir instructor Dr. Brown and dance teacher Mrs. Brown. Different props and live models were used throughout the day for the life drawings, including art teacher Mr. Ray Gossell.

On the evening of Thursday, May 11, the art show opened in the main gym, and continued into Friday, May 12th. Art students showcased pieces they made throughout the year. Art work on display included portraits, jewelry, paintings, photos, and ceramics. The event included live figure drawing and a silent auction. Students browsed the art show throughout the day and interacted with the artists.

Wildcats do their pre -race circle that consists of chants and cheers to hype up the team. “I think cross country is such an interesting sport, in the way we're all kind of struggling together at the same time," senior Emme Fogle said. "[We have] comfort knowing that everyone's kind of going through the same thing. It's kind of incredible.”

The Workshop is now located in room 149. Students can now go there when they are in need of academic assistance.
“We thought, while we're moving the location, this is a perfect opportunity for rebranding,” Dr Loika said.

School Renovations: What’s New and Improved

A student places their phone into a classroom’s phone “home” or “hotel” at the beginning of the period. On the board is a poster found in every classroom that displays the “Ready to Learn” objective, hoping to improve students’ well-being in schools.
