LHS theater presents “Romeo and Juliet”
The Montagues and Capulets faced off against each other after a duel between several members of the respective families.
From Feb. 14-15, the LHS theater department put on “Romeo and Juliet,” a classic piece complete with period costumes and sword duels along with the traditional tale. Act I featured the meeting and subsequent romance between Romeo and Juliet, while in the second half, the star-crossed lovers were plagued by aggressive, feuding families and other circumstances that led them away from each other. Romeo and Juliet’s love is further complicated by Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin and a rival of Romeo’s close friend Mercutio, as well as Count Paris’ desire to wed Juliet.
