Why DOI is important to me
From the beginning of this year, Drops of Ink has always been more than just another class period for me. It started out as just a spark of interest, as I wanted to know more about journalism, but it quickly turned into more of a passion. Every day, I look forward to going to third period because of the people and atmosphere that DOI provides. It’s structured where you are given the freedom to utilize your time in a way that works best for you, while teaching ways to strengthen your journalistic skills. My favorite part of DOI is being able to work and build relationships with the other staff members, some of whom I would have never met without DOI. The diverse group of people in DOI is what makes it so special. The friendships that I have made in this class mean more to me than any story I will ever write. No matter how my day is going, I know that I will always walk out of DOI with a smile on my face.
