LHS wrestling wins their first invitational

While many people were waking up from their Thanksgiving-night sleep with their stomachs full and feeling well-rested, the Libertyville boys wrestling team was on their way to Barrington for their first tournament of the year.

At the Moore/Prettyman Invitational on Friday, Nov. 25, the Libertyville boys wrestling team started their season off strong, placing second as a team going into the second day of competition on Saturday, Nov. 26.

The team was led by sophomore Danny Pucino in the 132-pound weight class; juniors Brandon Murphy (120lbs.) and Michael Gunther (138 lbs.); and seniors Tyler Padilla (152 lbs.), Matt Templeton (126 lbs), and Charlie Schmidt (285 lbs). The team was all-around champion with 173 points, giving them a great embark for their upcoming season.
