“When I found out I was gay it was weird because before I was really shy.  In elementary and middle school I spoke like five words.  I hated being up in front of people or just with individuals, but for some reason when I came out, I became so much more confident with myself.  Now I have no problem speaking out in front of class [or speaking] out of turn, which is not always the best.  I do get in trouble for speaking up too much,” senior Sophia Rigo laughed.  “But I feel like I [am more comfortable] being myself…doing what I want to do and getting myself out there.”
