While explaining the origin behind “hate has no home here” signs, Libertyville High School teacher and theatre director Mr. Christopher Thomas spoke about the importance of acceptance and anti-hate values at LHS’s “Erase the Hate” event.

In 1987, five members of the KKK announced their plans for a rally in Gurnee at the town’s village hall, seen above. The city issued a permit for the event, but a rally was never held.
