Up Next: Lake Forest (3-0)

The Good:

The offense continued to look good against Mundelein. Schurr keeps getting better with every game under the new spread offense, and his chemistry with his recievers keeps improving as well. The return of Demarqus Wilson against Lake Forest should diversify the Wildcats offense even more. Mix in junior Hutch Herchenbach and the aforementioned Swift, and the Wildcat offense could be one of the best in conference. There's not much to report on Lake Forest's weaknesses. They're a fairly balanced team.

The Bad:

Penalties were an issue against Mundelein. The Wildcats had a touchdown called back late in the first quarter, and it was not the first, nor last time, penalties cost the Wildcats. If they take as many penalities against Lake Forest as they did against Mundelein, it will continue to cost them. The Scouts' offense could give the Wildcat defense fits simply because they're balanced, much like Barrington's.

The Ugly Truth:

Sure, as the any member of the Chicago Bears will tell you after their win against the Lions, a win is a win. But a win against a team like the Lions is not the same as a win against a team like the Saints. The same can be said for the Wildcats. A win against Mundelein isn't the same as a win against a team like Stevenson. The Wildcats may have dealt with the Mustangs easily, but they still have problems. The defense is iffy against the run and just okay against the pass.

This game against Lake Forest is huge. If the Wildcats can put together two in-conference wins in a row, it'll keep the Wildcats out of the cellar of the conference. But if the Wildcats lose, they would have to win almost every game from there on to beat Lake Forest for that third spot in the playoffs.
