Team Record and Accomplishments: 5-5, after winning 4 consecutive meets. Took 1st in the Gurnee Regional, 2nd at the LHS Invite and 1st at the Lake Forest Invite

Coach’s Thoughts: “We started the season with very uneven play and inconsistencies. With perseverance, we were able to get back to even at 5-5. We feel great about our accomplishments.”

FOOTBALL

Coach’s Thoughts: “I really don’t think our record indicates how we’ve played this season. This has been by far my most enjoyable year. [The players’] attitude and intensity during the whole year has been fantastic.”
BOYS GOLF
Head Coach: Sean Matthews
Team Record and Accomplishments: The squad was 3-4 in dual meets this season. The major highlight came during the Antioch Invite, where the team took 2nd place

Next Year, Watch Out For: Sophomores Peter Henderson, Jordan Hollenbach and John Cordan
Coach’s Thoughts: “This is a great group of kids. I wish we could have been more competitive, though. Next year should be very exciting, because we have talented underclassmen.”
CROSS COUNTRY
Head Coach: Mark Buesing
Team Record and Accomplishments: They went an impressive 66-47
Key Members: Dan Ryan, Nick Korhummel
Next Year Watch Out For: Dan Ryan, Nick Korhummel and 9 other returning juniors
Coach’s Thoughts:“We finished 4th in conference at the Varsity level. That means a lot of teams would love to be where we are. They would love to be in our shoes. I would say that we had a very good year.”
CROSS COUNTRY
Head Coach: Joe Roth
Team Record and Accomplishments: Won the Racine-Horlick Invite and earned 4th place at the Wheeling Invite. They also placed 2nd at the conference invite
Key Members: Ericka Danckers, Jessica Key
Next Year, Watch Out For: Nicole Jaffke, Maggie Fiorito and Abigail Toohey. This year, the trio was the 2, 4 and 5 runners
Coach’s Thoughts: “We are a tight group, and the whole team has worked extremely hard this year. We have a very deep team and have had success at all levels this year.”
BOYS SOCCER
Head Coach: Andy Bitta
Team Record and Accomplishments: 16-3-2, one of the most impressive in LHS history. They also made the finals in the Pepsi Showdown at Toyota Park

Next Year, Watch Out For: Austin Bitta, Tyler Gillespie, Tamade Owalabi and Lloyd Chatfield
Coach’s Thoughts: “This season has been so rewarding. We’ve had major accomplishments, like the Pepsi Showdown.”
GIRLS SWIMMING
Head Coach: Erik Rogers
Team Record and Accomplishments: They are nearing the conference meet with a record of 4-3
Key Members: Whitney Mitchell, Morgan Dickson
Next Year, Watch Out For: Sophomores Julia Elsmo, Jessica Damagala and Morgan Dickson
Coach’s Thoughts: “If we had won at Stevenson, it would’ve been huge. We should be able to be great next year, because we have a sophomore class full of talent.”
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Head Coach: Greg Loika
Team Record and Accomplishments: The team has an overall record of 29-1. The team earned 1st place in the Prospect Invite and the Stevenson Invite
Key Members: Hannah Saia, Catie Steffen, Paige Hopper
Next Year, Watch Out For: Kerri Risley, Eileen Knauff, Katie Wiener and Cindy Zhao
Coach’s Thoughts: “We have really played at a high level all year. We beat the teams that got the better of us last year. We are certainly hoping for a long playoff run.”
GIRLS TENNIS
Head Coach: Dan Kiernan
Team Record and Accomplishments: The team had a 7-6 record, 4-2 in conference play. They took 1st place in the Fremd High School Invite

Next Year, Watch Out For: Sarah Paulson
Coach’s Thoughts: “We’ve had a very successful year. Clearly, we are much improved from last year. We managed to beat Warren, won a tournament, and have two girls who went to State.”
