While students and teachers were enjoying their summer break, the LHS building went through several changes.
The north parking lot by the pool and studio theatre that used to flood has been raised by six inches. In addition, the lot has been repaved and repainted.
Students are now squinting when looking out upstairs classroom windows. The roofs have been replaced from a dark hue to a blinding white, stretching from the pool area to the auditorium. The new roof is also more energy-efficient.
With the rocks from the old roof, the LHS grounds management added decoration to the track fence. The football team offered some helping hands, and the project was completed in three hours with no fees.
Also, the tiles in the band room were also replaced with new, much prettier tiles, and the plumbing above a girls’ bathroom was replaced.
“The school looks good and works well,” Mr. Richardson, building and grounds director, said.
