Many students enjoyed the view of the Chicago skyline from the outdoor terrace.

Last Saturday, juniors and seniors visited the Shedd Aquarium for their Prom.

As the buses arrived to the Shedd, students entered and walked along the dolphin and Beluga whales exhibits. After stopping to take pictures and videos of the dolphins and whales, students then were free to watch the sea otters and walk downstairs to see the beloved penguins.

After experiencing the open exhibits and tanks, the North Terrace and Lakefront Terrace were opened for students to view the city and socialize before heading to dinner. For dinner, tables were set up all around the Pritzker Caribbean Reef. Shortly after dinner, students began gathering in the main lobby for the dance itself.

The view and the atmosphere”-Dillon Titus

“The Skyline”-Devin Seth

“I loved the freedom we had to explore the exhibits, the outdoor view overlooking the city, and bragging rights with other schools.”-Kierstin Thompson

“Being able to explore. A large area was opened and we could look at all sorts of exhibits. This was great if you were tired and you didn’t want to dance”-Hannah Mendralla

“I thought all the beautiful scenery was the best part. Everything about the Shedd made Prom awesome! It was a perfect location being surrounded by the best city!”-Kelsey Schweiger

“Having the whole museum to ourselves and the outer deck was very cool.”-Bridget Burnetti

Was there anything that you disliked from Prom or thought could be better?

“Bad DJ, dance floor was too lit up- should’ve been darker”-Alec Ovassapian

“When they cut the music at the end after a good song finally came on other then that the night was magical”-Mary Graham

“I wish we would have had more information before hand regarding exhibits and what the night would look like from a time standpoint. We for the most part were unaware of when we should leave the exhibits and go outside to the patio for pictures.”-Olivia Serb
